Nisto Impact Reporting: What You Need to Know

If your project requires reporting through Nisto, here’s what you need to understand:

  1. About Nisto
Nisto is a secure impact reporting platform that collects, analyzes, and processes raw accounting data to produce auditable, confident, comparable, and framework-aligned reports. Nisto mitigates legal risks associated with identity collection and provides a turnkey, credible solution to meet your project’s impact reporting requirements.

  2. Monthly Data Submission
Each month, you must submit a raw .csv file through our portal containing both anonymous payroll data and procurement/expense data.

    • “Raw data” means data exported directly from your ERP, payroll, or accounting system—without any modifications or adjustments.

  3. Employee Identity Data Collection

    • Employees can self-identify their unique identities using the Nisto People app, located on the right side of the screen.

    • This is the only accepted method for identity data collection, as it:

      • Protects your organization from having to request identity information directly.

      • Allows employees to withdraw consent at any time, ensuring compliance with privacy best practices.

    • This method is recognized as a best-in-class approach for identity collection.

  4. Subcontractor Compliance
By bidding on this project—and if awarded—it is expected that these impact reporting requirements will cascade down to your subcontractors.

  5. RFP Language for Vendors
Language that is to be shared with your subcontractors and suppliers is found in the shaded box to the right (or below on mobile).

  6. Bid Acknowledgment Statement
Attached is a statement that can be printed and included with your bid, acknowledging your understanding of these impact reporting requirements.

    • Regardless of whether this statement is submitted, compliance with these steps is mandatory.

    • In many cases, monthly progress payments are tied to adherence to this process.

  7. Cost

The cost for a General Contractor and subcontractors is found on our pricing page here.

Language to provide your Vendors and Suppliers on your Project:

Nisto Social Impact Reporting Requirement

To ensure transparent and consistent social impact reporting and compliance, [General Contractor] has committed to employing Nisto reporting in the execution of the [Project Name] project.  This commitment extends to all vendors and suppliers engaged in this project. The entire supply chain must adhere to Nisto’s methodology and to ensure compliant reporting under the [Framework / CBA / Nisto Standard].  Additionally, each subcontractor is required to ensure that the Nisto reporting requirement is communicated to and fulfilled by any subcontractors they engage, ensuring compliance across all levels of the project.

The employment and procurement data must be provided in accordance with the data submission requirements found in the Nisto Portal.  Data must be submitted to the Nisto Portal on a monthly basis by all vendors and suppliers, while they are active on the project.

Vendors and suppliers will each bear the cost of Nisto reporting.  Pricing can be found at https://www.nisto.io/pricing – specifically, the Nisto subcontractor Statement @ $299/month.

This is a mandatory requirement.

To facilitate the onboarding process, a Nisto representative will support your company’s assigned reporting resource.  For any questions you may have, please contact Shakeel Nathoo, the Director of Client Relations at Nisto.
